CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

Black Sheets
The Repression Issue

Deadline for submissions: November 15, 2000.

Repression is sexy!

Black Sheets, the renegade sex 'zine, seeks personal essays, fiction, journalism and poems for its "repressed" issue. Sexual repression, pro and con. Have you ever had a secret? A hidden desire that bubbled to the surface of your consciousness in spite of all efforts to keep it suppressed? Did it come out at the worst times or in the worst places? Or did the dam break in an explosion that rocked your world?

We seek Victorian sex, girl groups in heat, sexual hangups, sex and religion, sex and politics, what's a nice girl like you doing with a libido like this? We all know that repression can equal bad sex, but can it equal good sex? Does sexual repression generate sexual heat? And can that heat melt the repression?

We want to hear your stories, fictional or otherwise! Please send them to ck17@speakeasy.org. Absolute deadline is November 15, 2000. We pay $10-20 per published work. We may consider reprints for a lower pay rate ($5-$10).

Black Sheets is a humorous zine about sex and popular culture. We have been publishing since 1993. Past issues have included work by Carol Queen, Simon Sheppard, Thomas Roche, Jill Nagle, Thea Hillman, M. Christian, pansy, and others.
